Group 23
Group 23 is a loosely-knit bunch of NT sys admins who, for better or worse, are committed to making Windows NT as secure and as easy to administer as possible. Some of us come from UNIX backgrounds, and all of us agree that the UNIX paradigm of lots of little, specific tools glued together by PERL or other types or scripts is a Real Good Idea, as opposed to buying Very Expensive Tools that either do too much or too little.
Most of us are MCSE's, but we're not a bunch of raving Microsoft fans. In fact, more often than not we are bothered by the way Microsoft does things, but at the same time we do believe that NT is a good OS and has its rightful place. Because of this, we try to work to make it better.
We like to play around with security stuff primarily, and so most of the tools you will see here are focused on securing NT as well as finding its vulnerabilities.
We are also big supporters of the concept of freeware, so for the most part anything you find here will be free to use (unless we write something totally neat that some wants to pay us lots of money for. Highly doubtful). We're also PERL bigots, so be forewarned. None of us are hard core programmers, we "hack" out our programms in the truest sense of the word. But we're learning, and the stuff we make tends to work.
So there.
Since this site is going to be constantly growing (we hope) we figured we'd start it off now with a couple of simple things. As we get our acts together and more free time, more stuff will appear. If you find somethig here useful, let us know. If you find that it sucks, don't tell us UNLESS you are also telling us where we messed up AND how to make it better.
